1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using StoryLore (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service, including learners, customers, and contributors.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a legally binding contract in your jurisdiction. If you are under the age of majority, you may use the Service only with involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
We may refuse, suspend, or terminate access if eligibility requirements are not met or if we reasonably believe your use creates risk for the Service or other users.
3. Accounts & Security
Certain features may require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it updated, and maintain the confidentiality of your credentials.
3.1 Security responsibilities
You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorized use or security breach.
3.2 Service communications
We may send important notices related to your account or the Service (for example, transactional emails and policy updates). You can manage non-essential marketing preferences where offered.
4. License & Permitted Use
Subject to these Terms, StoryLore grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial learning purposes.
4.1 Course access
Access may be time-limited or feature-limited depending on the product you purchase or the subscription plan you choose. Any stated access period begins upon successful payment or activation.
4.2 Downloads & offline use
Where downloads are provided, they are for your personal use only. You may not share, repost, or distribute materials to others unless explicitly permitted in writing.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes, without limitation, attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfering with operation, scraping content, reverse engineering, or bypassing access controls.
5.1 Examples of prohibited behavior
Examples include: sharing login credentials, reselling course access, uploading malicious code, harassing others, submitting false reports, or using the Service to infringe intellectual property rights.
We may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including suspending or terminating access.
6. Payments, Refunds & Taxes
If you purchase paid features, you agree to pay the fees shown at checkout and authorize us (or our payment processors) to charge your chosen payment method.
6.1 Refund policy overview
Refund eligibility, where applicable, depends on the product type and the circumstances. If a refund window is stated at purchase time, that policy controls. We may deny refunds in cases of abuse, excessive chargebacks, or policy violations.
6.2 Taxes
You are responsible for taxes imposed by your jurisdiction, if any. We may collect taxes where required.
7. User Content & Feedback
If you submit content (including messages, comments, assignments, or feedback), you grant StoryLore a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display it for operating and improving the Service, subject to applicable law.
7.1 Standards
You agree that your submissions will not be unlawful, infringing, misleading, or abusive, and will not contain sensitive personal data unless expressly requested via a secure channel.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including course materials, designs, text, graphics, and code, is owned by StoryLore or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
9. Availability & Changes
We aim to keep the Service reliable and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time, including features and content.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective when posted, unless stated otherwise. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, StoryLore disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and merchantability.
Educational content is for informational purposes only and may not be complete, current, or suitable for every situation. You are responsible for your decisions and outcomes.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, StoryLore will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from or related to your use of the Service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the amount you paid to StoryLore for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or the minimum amount required by law, whichever is greater.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StoryLore and its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your submissions, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk, or used the Service unlawfully.
Upon termination, the license granted to you ends and you must cease use of the Service. Certain provisions (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity) will survive termination.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where StoryLore operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where local law requires otherwise.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
